I began exporting Linen to Timna, which was conveniently trading by land. By the time the first flood had receded, I built more farms and Work Camps on the opposing bank. As soon as I had 20 unemployed workers, I built a single Work Camp on the southern bank to provide laborers for my farms on that side of the Nile. Even those rickety logs in Zeus are easier on the eyes.)īreaking with other players’ opening strategies, I completely ignored fishing or providing food until I was making a profit from exports. (Coincidentally, I’m finally realizing just how ugly the Bridges look in Caesar 3 and Pharaoh. I situated a second housing block due north of the large patch of marshland, which I eventually accessed via roads and a Bridge. Just before most of that got underway, I placed Ferry Landings to give my immigrants access to the northern bank. Just beyond that point, I used that narrow sliver of floodplain to produce Barley and Flax. This adjacent loop included a Granary, Weavers, Breweries, and several Fishing Wharves (among other buildings). The outlying housing on the lower right end provided a neighboring industrial block access to labor. My first order of business was to build a housing block near the entry point on the southern bank.
